In recent news Samsung just notified their clients that they had a data breach. According to the report the data breach happened in July of 2022 and we are just now hearing about the breach. According to Samsung, the breach “did not impact Social Security numbers or credit and debit card numbers.” But it did compromise data such as “name, contact and demographics, date of birth, and product registration information.”
This isn’t the first time the company has experienced a major cybersecurity lapse. Earlier this year, the lapsus$ cybercrime gang recently published a 190GB-heavy data dump of intel allegedly belonging to Samsung which included a host of confidential and valuable technical data. Samsung did confirm the breach did take place, but refused to go into much detail about exactly what information was affected.
It doesn’t matter how large or small your business is. Hackers only see data, they don’t see size. Yes, the larger you are the more of a challenge it is for them to try and steal your data. However even the smaller companies can get hacked just as easily. Be proactive and don’t wait to become a victim!
