DoorDash was hit by a data breach linked to Twilio hackers. The data breach compromised some customer information and payment data. This hack was possibly due to lack of security policies and management on their network.
The hackers stole credentials from employees from a third party vendor that was used to access DoorDash’s internal tools. The hackers accessed names, email addresses, delivery addresses, phone numbers, and payment card information.
DoorDash stated they cut off the access after seeing some unusual activity on their network. Doordash did not comment on when this incident first occurred. Nor did they mention how many users have been compromised.
This recent attack is not the first time DoorDash got hacked. They were last hacked in 2019. That hack compromised 4.9 million customers. Since the most recent hack they have hired a third party Cyber Security Specialist to beef up their security policies and remain current with security standards.
If your business does not have proper security equipment, proper security software, and or security policies in place now is the time to do so. Have a third party vendor run penetration tests on your network. Make sure you are protecting your business but you’re also protecting your clients.
